How To Get More Customers For Your Locksmith Company

Blog / How To Get More Customers For Your Locksmith Company

People are always locking themselves out of their cars and homes, and there’s always a high demand for locksmiths to come out and change the locks on people’s homes, as well. However, because most people don’t lock themselves out and need a locksmith on a very regular basis, a successful locksmith company needs to constantly be working to bring in new customers. So how can you get more customers for your locksmith business?

Advertise in the Right Places

First of all, you don’t have to spend a ton of money on advertising, but you do need to get your company name and logo in front of your potential customers. You want to increase your brand recognition so that, when people need a locksmith, they automatically think of your business. This means advertising in places that your customers will see, but what does that mean exactly?

If your locksmiths are driving to jobs in their own cars and don’t have any advertising for your business on them, you’re missing out on a big advertising opportunity. Even if you don’t have the budget to buy a whole fleet of company vehicles, you can invest in some large magnets for your employees’ cars when they’re on the clock. This way people in the areas you serve will see your logo and brand name. Then they’ll be more likely to call you than another locksmith company.

Create Quality Print Materials

You might think that you can get a generic locksmith invoice form for your employees to fill out and your customers to sign whenever a job is completed, but that’s really not the way to get more customers. Make sure that all of your print materials, even your locksmith invoice forms, are branded and printed with quality ink and good paper stock. This will create a uniform look for your company, and it’ll help to improve your brand recognition even more.

Team Up With Other Local Businesses

You can also get more customers by networking and teaming up with businesses that complement your own. For example, you might team up with contractors who work on renovating distressed houses, and they can recommend you to change the locks on the properties they work on. You could also work with a home security company in your area, and they could recommend your services to customers who’ve had problems with break-ins, as well. Think outside the box, and get to know other business owners in your area. You never know who might offer you some great opportunities to get more customers.

With these tips, you should start to see increases in your business. If you follow these steps, and you continue to work on getting your brand name out there – both online and in print – then you’ll see even more new customers calling on you when they need locksmith work done. Remember to present a unified, branded look on everything from your employees’ cars to your locksmith invoice form, and you’ll get more brand recognition and more customers.

From my roots in Jamaica to the bustling streets of the USA, my journey into design and printing has been fueled by a passion for creativity and business. I founded Small Business Promotions, Inc. back in 2003, bringing DesignsnPring.com to life. The foundation of my work comes from not only my degree in accounting and economics from the University of the West Indies but also my hands-on-experience that started at Georgia Perimeter College.
